Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr Network Dev Engineer to join our team in Amazon, where you will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying reliable distributed solutions that operate at Amazon scale.

This is a high-ownership role with significant scope, where you will partner with multiple teams to innovate in the compute automation space. Your responsibilities will include driving key engineering decisions that impact device management for Amazon fulfillment sites globally.

As a Sr Network Dev Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing new software by designing, coding, and launching global edge compute automation systems
  • Designing software solutions for emerging business use cases
  • Partnering with SDMs and PMs to gather requirements and define features

You will work in a fast-paced environment that has the entrepreneurial feel of a start-up, and will be part of a tight-knit team that operates primarily out of Austin. We have a mix of experience levels, and work in a broad, collaborative space that has something for everyone.

About the Team

We own the infrastructure automation that manages Amazon Store's compute and device infrastructure. We are passionate about taking complex infrastructure and abstracting it with self-service tooling. We embrace simple, decoupled, fault-tolerant solutions so we can spend more time innovating, and less time fixing.

Basic Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with:

  • 5+ years of automation scripting using Python, Bash, Shell, and/or Perl experience
  • 8+ years of major internet routing protocols experience
  • 5+ years of working in a Linux/Unix environment experience

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience with Machine Learning and AI is an asset.

  • Is Engaged by Ambiguity: You're able to explore new problem spaces with unique constraints and thus non-obvious solutions; you're quick to identify any gaps in the team and the right person to fill them to best deliver value to customers.
