Job Summary

The Loader Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner. This includes cleaning, maintaining, and securing all equipment as per company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate front-end loader to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage areas, feed conveyors, hoppers, and load trucks or railcars.
• Start engine, shift gears, press pedals, and turn steering wheel to operate loader.
• Move levers to lower and tilt bucket and drive front-end loader to force bucket into bulk materials.
• Move levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drive vehicle to work site, and move levers to dump material.
• Verify amount of aggregate in storage bins and fill hoppers to ensure adequate quantity and quality of raw materials is maintained.
• Perform routine maintenance on loaders, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
• Participate in ensuring the quality and quantity of raw materials meets established standards.
• Ensure assigned performance indicators are met.
• Work towards improvement of the assigned plant and surrounding area.
• Follow established procedures to ensure compliance with state, federal, and local regulations and requirements.
• Participate in on-going minor maintenance and visual evaluations of plant and equipment.
• Confer with plant superintendent, batch person, and other personnel to resolve problems, provide immediate feedback, and recommend solutions to improve performance.
• May haul cement and/or additives from storage area in bulk or bags.
• Adhere to all CEMEX, OSHA, and MSHA rules and regulations at all times and wear proper safety equipment while on plant grounds.
• Meet or exceed company safety standards.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Bilingual a plus.

Working Conditions

• Continuous exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, extreme noise, and working outdoors.
• Must wear protective equipment while at the location.

Physical Requirements

• Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree.
• Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently.
• Job involves sitting most of the time, but also involves walking or standing for brief periods of time.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, in order to communicate to employees/visitors as well as function safely around heavy rolling equipment.
• Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls.
