Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Paramedic Educator to join our team. As an EMS Instructor, you will play a critical role in the coordination, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of our Paramedic Education Program.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver laboratory sessions, ensuring the necessary equipment is available and evaluators are assigned.
- Provide one-on-one tutoring on practical skills and didactic material to EMT and Paramedic students.
- Assign EMS courses in the classroom and laboratory setting, maintaining accurate inventory of paramedic program supplies and equipment.
- Evaluate new EMS products and equipment, making recommendations to the Program Director regarding purchases.
- Assist with class coverage, monitoring lectures, and lecturing as necessary.
- Administer and evaluate written tests, as well as evaluate students in clinical/field internship rotations.
- Submit student evaluations to the Program Coordinator and assist EMT and Paramedic instructors in scheduling equipment for classroom instruction and practical testing.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with community health and EMS organizations and agencies.
- Ensure current licensure/certifications are maintained throughout tenure of duty.
- Perform other duties as assigned, adhering to Hospital and department policies and procedures.
- High school diploma or GED required; Associates degree preferred.
- State of Ohio Paramedic Certification required.
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required within one year.
- State of Ohio EMS Instructor (EMS-I) certification required within one year.
- Basic Life Support Instructor certification required within one year.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Instructor certification required within one year.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support Instructor certification required within one year.
- ITLS Instructor certification required within one year.
- National Registered Paramedic certification preferred.
- Five years EMS experience as an EMT, Advanced EMT, or Paramedic; two years of Paramedic experience required.
- Teaching experience preferred.
This role requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination, and extensive standing and walking.
Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
