Job Title: Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist

We are seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our team at Prevea Health. As a Laboratory Assistant/Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture on adult, neonatal, and pediatric patients.
  • Assist in obtaining specimens from indwelling lines.
  • Instruct patients in all urine collection procedures and testing requirements.
  • Participate in education of students and new personnel.
  • Work with computer systems and communicate effectively with patients and internal and external customers.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of High school diploma or GED.
  • Good phlebotomy skills, especially with Pediatrics.
  • Graduate of accredited phlebotomy program or related field, preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Prefer a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience.
Working Conditions:

Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations, above normal noise levels, and other conditions common to a clinic environment.

Work is performed in the laboratory area and involves constant contact with patients. Work may be stressful at times. Interaction with others is constant and interruptive.
