Permit Writer

Total Safety is seeking a highly skilled Permit Writer to join their team of safety professionals. As a Permit Writer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe execution of work activities on our clients' sites.

• Audit compliance with regulatory agency requirements and ensure that all necessary permits are issued in a timely manner.
• Conduct site safety audits to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and contractors to ensure that all safety procedures are followed and that work is performed in a safe and controlled environment.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the site's processes and procedures to ensure that all safety protocols are followed.
• Participate in daily progress update meetings to ensure that all safety-related issues are addressed.
• Conduct regular audits of active work permits to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements.
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the site's safety procedures and protocols to ensure that all safety-related issues are addressed.

• Minimum of 8 years direct related safety experience in the petrochemical/refining industry or a minimum of 10 years' experience in operations with 5 years direct related safety experience.
• Previous experience writing permits in the petrochemical/refining industry.
• Strong understanding of regulatory agency requirements and safety protocols.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
