We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Brewer to join our production team at OHSO Brewery and Distillery. As a key member of our cellar operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of our beers and spirits.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the brewing process, including yeast handling and management, wort production, and fermentation management.
- Perform preventative maintenance on brewery equipment and track inventory of raw materials and finished goods.
- Conduct CIP of brewery tanks and maintain sanitary practices in all aspects of the beer process.
- Follow all safety protocols concerning chemicals and hazards.
- Work a variety of beer festivals and other events as needed.
- Assist in cellar tasks and management, including taking measurements, filtering, racking, dosing, and kegging.
OHSO Brewery and Distillery is a local restaurant, brewery, and distillery that is a dog-friendly, social hot-spot with four locations across the valley. We are a casual, service-driven organization that serves high-quality spirits, beer, and food. Our team is passionate about creating unique and approachable beer and spirits in a fun, open environment.
Requirements- Basic understanding of chemical use for cleaning and sanitizing.
- Basic understanding of the fermentation, maturation, and post-fermentation ingredient additions.
- Ability to stoop, squat, kneel, and crawl for the purposes of collecting samples, data, and cleaning.
- Must be able to lift and transport items up to 55 lbs alone or 170 lbs as a team.
- Stand and occasionally run short distances for 8+ straight hours.
- Strong organizational habits and work ethic, self-motivated, and ability to problem-solve.
- Working knowledge of Google Drive and ability to use and learn various computer programs.
- Working knowledge of chemistry and biology as it pertains to brewing science a bonus.
- 2+ years in production brewery or brew pub.
- Brewing certificate from an accredited school in brewing or fermentation science.
- Cost-shared medical insurance.
- Vision and dental insurance (full-time equivalent only, after 6-month probationary period).
- 50% discount on merchandise.
