Position Summary:

The Engineering Laboratory Intern will be an integral member of the Engineering Lab division within the Unitary Products Group at Johnson Controls. This division is tasked with the design, testing, production, and assembly of HVAC systems tailored for residential and light commercial applications. The intern will gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the inventory of components for prototype testing unit assemblies, which includes procurement, storage, and preparation of parts
  • Innovate new laboratory procedures to improve operational efficiency
  • Assist in the coordination of testing stations
  • Support the management of finished goods inventory within the lab
  • Comply with safety protocols and promote a culture of safety

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Project Management, Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Capability to lift various equipment and components
  • Experience collaborating in project teams
  • Strong communication abilities
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with SAP software
  • Understanding of HVAC systems
