Job Summary

We are seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team at Cleveland Clinic's Hillcrest Hospital. As a RN in this role, you will provide direct nursing care to patients, implement and monitor patient care plans, administer medications and treatments, and assess and coordinate patient discharge plans.

Responsibilities
  • Provides direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Implements and monitors patient care plans to ensure effective and timely care.
  • Monitors and documents patient condition, including vital signs and medication administration.
  • Evaluates and updates patient care plans to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines to ensure well-coordinated patient care.
  • Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing protocols.
  • Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assesses and coordinates patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
  • Provides teaching and educational materials to patients and families, considering cultural and special concerns.
  • Validates and documents patient and family understanding of teaching.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) for Critical Care areas.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) for Pediatric areas.
  • ONS Chemo/Bio course completion within two years of hire for units where chemotherapy is administered.
