This role presents a unique opportunity for individuals passionate about financial management in an academic and research setting. As a crucial financial advisor for the seven core facilities, you will play a pivotal role in cost forecasting, budget development, and financial sustainability. Your contributions will directly impact the progress of pioneering research by providing vital support to core directors and the School of Medicine's leadership. Engage in diverse and impactful tasks, from managing intricate budget reconciliations and financial reporting to coordinating funding for facility upgrades and implementing invoicing systems.

Interact daily with core facility managers, faculty, the Dean's Office, and external entities to ensure precise financial tracking and compliance with university guidelines. Manage grant expenses, conduct financial analyses for research labs, and supervise payroll funding. This position not only enhances the department's financial well-being but also supports the university's mission of fostering innovative research. Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecast and reconcile program and project budgets for core facilities, including annual cost studies and financial projections.
  • Manage construction and remodel funding for facility expansions and upgrades.
  • Oversee invoicing system for all cores, ensuring accurate reporting and timely payments.
  • Coordinate procurement support for equipment, manage inventories, and depreciation schedules.
  • Analyze grant notices, handle sponsored project expenses, and forecast laboratory budgets.
  • Collaborate with the Office of Grants and Contracts for compliance with granting agency policies.
  • Provide financial reports to facility directors, including budget recommendations and issue assessments.

Work Environment:

This role offers a hybrid schedule of 1 day per week on campus and in-person meetings in a professional setting.
