Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to join our Regulatory and Compliance Engineering team at Stripe. This is an exceptional opportunity to work on mission-critical business domains, focusing on Tax and Invoicing.

About the Team

Our team operates Stripe's ledger, which is the authoritative source of record for all money movement at Stripe. We calculate taxes on every Stripe fee and submit tax and regulatory reports that enable us to operate throughout the world.

Responsibilities
  • Design and Build Large-Scale Low-Latency Services: You will design, build, and maintain large-scale low-latency services and data pipelines for customers that produce or consume financial data at Stripe.
  • Ensure High Accuracy for All Transactions: You will build watertight controls across data flows to ensure super high accuracy for all transactions (trillions of dollars).
  • Accurate and Reliable Reporting: You will ensure accurate, reliable, and timely reporting delivered to a single source-of-truth data warehouse.
Requirements
  • You have 2+ years of industry Software Engineering experience.
  • You enjoy building scalable backend infrastructure.
  • You write high-quality code in Scala, Java, or Ruby.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around $180,000 - $250,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
