Job Summary

Harsco Environmental is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Loader Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, to move hot material in a fast-paced outdoor environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, to move hot material.
  • Check fluids, maintain equipment, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following all safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Collaborate with the team to achieve production goals and objectives.
  • Perform related work and additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years' experience as a heavy equipment operator.
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment with extreme temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Good communication skills and ability to read operating instructions.
  • Proactive in safety and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience in using a loader operator required.
  • Mechanical ability a plus.
  • Good work ethic and self-motivation.
  • Knowledge and experience operating front-end wheel loaders, excavators, and other similar equipment.
  • Knowledge of equipment inspection, preventative maintenance, and cleaning standards.
  • Ability to work independently and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Solid communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work outdoors in hot and cold temperatures.
  • Must be able to work in a busy, often distracting work environment.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted on an occasional basis.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time.
