Job Summary

The Industrial Athletic Trainer plays a critical role in planning, coordinating, and supervising worksite injury management and health improvement programs for employees. Working under the direction of the Onsite Innovations Medical Director, this position carries out activities in injury prevention and evaluation, OSHA emergency/first aid treatment, physical conditioning and rehabilitation assistance, health education and coaching, and worksite health promotion and marketing activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform wellness screenings and coaching to promote employee health and well-being
  • Analyze data to measure direct and indirect costs of musculoskeletal disorders and identify areas for improvement
  • Provide first-aid treatment and case management for musculoskeletal complaints, including the use of ice, heat, and wellness stretches, massages, tape techniques, and non-rigid bracing
  • Conduct orthopedic injury assessments, including history, observation, palpation, range of motion, manual muscle strength, reflex testing, myotomes, dermatomes, and special tests
  • Implement treatment plans that incorporate therapeutic exercise, modalities, and work conditioning as necessary
  • Perform comprehensive ergonomic job analyses, including task analysis, risk factor identification and quantification, posture analysis, and body mechanics analysis
  • Design and implement ergonomic interventions using innovative and creative solutions
  • Perform administrative requirements, such as completing necessary forms and reports in a timely manner
  • Create an environment of trust and caring that encourages employees to take responsibility for reducing/eliminating actions/behaviors that contribute to injury/illness
  • Communicate regularly with safety personnel regarding rehab and injury prevention activities
  • Attend meetings as requested and author articles for various newsletters and the company Intranet site
Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) year of athletic training experience
  • Occupational health experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Board-certified athletic training certification
  • State licensure certification
  • Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification
  • OSHA10 certification preferred
  • Willing to travel to various client locations
  • Knowledge of OSHA Recordability and workers compensation preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with clients and employees
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
