Overview

The Clinical Laboratory Specialist is responsible for preparing and analyzing blood, urine, and other bodily fluids to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of various health conditions.

This role may involve specialization in several key areas including:
  • Biochemistry
  • Bacteriology
  • Toxicology
  • Parasitology
  • Serology
  • Coagulation
  • Hematology
  • Urinalysis
  • Blood Banking

The Clinical Laboratory Specialist will evaluate results and document findings through the laboratory's information management system.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct quality control procedures to ensure accurate results.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laboratory instruments.
  • Maintain records of workload and manage incomplete work lists.
  • Order and replenish laboratory supplies as necessary.

Qualifications:
A. Education
  • Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution is required.
B. Experience
  • Minimum of one year of formal training in Medical Laboratory Technology.
C. Licensure/Certification
  • Registered Medical Laboratory Technician, ASCP or equivalent certification is required.
