Treatment Support Technician 2 Job Description

Gateway Rehab is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Treatment Support Technician 2 to join our team in Washington, PA. As a key member of our clinical staff, you will play a vital role in facilitating programming and ensuring the integrity of the therapeutic milieu.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead discussion groups and activities to promote patient engagement and participation.
  • Monitor patient behavior and provide support as needed.
  • Conduct handbook orientations and ensure patients understand their responsibilities.
  • Search patient belongings, rooms, and persons to maintain a safe environment.
  • Act as a liaison between clinical staff and patients, providing clear communication and support.
  • Assist patients in completing assessment forms and provide guidance as needed.
  • Make phone calls to family members, friends, and referral sources to facilitate communication.
  • Intervene in crises situations and provide support to patients.
  • Transport patients to meetings and appointments as necessary.
  • Document patient interactions and progress in progress notes.
  • Collect urine samples and complete paperwork for drug screening as required.
  • Provide post-discharge contacts and referrals under therapist direction.
  • Monitor medication taken by clients and document accordingly.
  • Work in the gift shop and manage menu and nutrition needs as applicable.
  • Manage donations and patient requests as applicable to the location.
  • Monitor smoke breaks in the hospital setting as applicable.
  • Complete intake paperwork as needed.
  • Monitor clients' ADLs, including chores, behaviors, and grooming issues.
  • Remain on duty until relieved.
  • Attend mandatory GRC trainings and in-services.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Some college education preferred.
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record to transport patients.
  • Pass a PA Criminal History Record Check.
  • Obtain PA or State Child Abuse and FBI fingerprinting clearances.
  • Obtain CPR/First Aid training.
  • Pass Drug Screen.
  • TB Testing.
  • This position requires mandatory staffing coverage to ensure a safe treatment environment.
  • Required to remain awake and alert while on duty.
  • If living a life of recovery, must attest to at least 18 months in recovery from substance use disorder.

  • Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Center.
  • Favorable working conditions.
  • Minimal physical demand.
  • Moderate mental demands to respond to patients' simultaneous requests.
