Project Architect Job Description

HOK Group, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Project Architect to join our team. As a Project Architect, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of architectural projects from conceptual phase through construction administration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and development of architectural projects, ensuring that the design intent is incorporated into the detailed documentation.
  • Monitor the design process, ensuring that the design idea is consistent and properly executed.
  • Responsible for technical resolution and coordination for a defined portion of a project.
  • Work with the Specification Writer to develop specifications and coordinate drawings and specifications.
  • Check completed reports, plans, estimates, and calculations for accuracy.
  • Set the overall strategy for producing documents and identify sheets planned for each stage of the work.
  • Set up project team software parameters and manage standards.
  • Foster and maintain a collaborative professional working relationship with the Project Leadership Team.
  • Communicate with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to ensure incorporation of all information into project requirements.
  • Ensure that construction detail documentation conforms to quality assurance, quality control, and best practice standards.
  • Supervise the preparation of technical drawings by other less senior level architects or technicians.
  • Perform as team leader on certain projects.
  • Mentor and direct the work of less experienced staff, participate in professional development reviews, and "Lessons Learned" sessions.
  • Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
  • Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent in education or experience required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 plus years' design experience.
  • Licensed Architect with current registration in your region required, if licensure is offered in your region.
  • NCARB registration preferred.
  • LEED credential required within 6 months of employment.

Compensation:

The reasonably expected annual salary range for this position is $125,000 to $135,000.
