About the Role
HCA Florida Blake Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Burn Unit team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our medical providers to deliver exceptional outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
- Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient response, and notify providers of any unintended effects.
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations before procedures, including review of medical history and diagnostic tests, physical and psychological assessments, and ensure patient understanding of the procedure and peri-operative process.
- Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals, and patient education.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, ensuring clear understanding of all communications among patients, physicians, and colleagues.
Requirements
- Must be licensed as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or hold compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 90 days of hire.
- Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
- Previous experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred.
- Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, and PC skills.
