Endoscopy Technician Job Description

TLC NURSING SERVICES is seeking a skilled Endoscopy Technician to join our team. As an Endoscopy Technician, you will play a critical role in preparing and maintaining endoscopy equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting the endoscopy nurse and physician during the procedure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and maintenance of endoscopy equipment: Ensure all equipment is in good working order, clean, and sterilized.
  • Patient preparation: Explain the procedure to the patient, assist with gowning, and position the patient for the procedure.
  • Assistance during the procedure: Hand instruments to the endoscopy nurse and physician as needed, and suction fluid as required.
  • Documentation: Record the procedure, including any adverse reactions or complications.
  • Cleaning and stocking: Clean the room and restock supplies after the procedure.

To be successful in this role, you must have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work well under pressure. A high school diploma or equivalent, along with on-the-job training or certification in endoscopy technology, is typically required. Some employers may also require previous experience in a clinical setting.

This is a contracted travel position, offering the opportunity to work with a variety of patients and healthcare teams.
