Job Title: Assistant Chief Nursing Officer

Located in the heart of southeast Missouri, Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center is a leading healthcare provider offering a range of medical services and procedures to patients in the region. As part of the CNO Development Program, this position requires relocation outside of Poplar Bluff, MO within an acceptable timeframe for promotion/transfer.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Chief Nursing Officer to provide leadership to nurse employees, fostering a culture of ownership and participation in decision-making processes.
  • Maintain necessary regulatory and compliance approvals and quality accreditations, ensuring the hospital's high standards are met.
  • Partner with physicians to enhance patient care and services, driving revenue growth through innovative service development.
  • Create an environment that encourages recruiting and retention of clinical employees, promoting a positive work culture.
  • Assist the CNO in managing costs by identifying opportunities for cost reduction and implementing data-driven solutions.
  • Establish standards for nursing practices, ensuring accountability, authority, and responsibility for nursing services.
  • Develop organizational patient care programs, policies, and procedures that describe how nursing care is assessed, delivered, and evaluated.
  • Assist the CNO in developing and managing the nursing services budget, ensuring sufficient staffing to meet patient needs.
  • Plan and provide nursing care interventions to prevent complications, promote improvement, and enhance patient comfort and wellness.
  • Analyze areas for performance improvement, promoting organization-wide initiatives.
  • Represent the nursing services at meetings, participating in designing and providing patient care and services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Master's degree required.
  • Detailed knowledge of hospital nursing operations.
  • Minimum 2 years of demonstrated successful leadership in an acute-care hospital environment (For-profit experience preferred).
  • Current licensure as a registered nurse (RN) within the state.
  • Proficient in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff, physicians, patients, and patient's families.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information concerning personal, financial, or medical matters.
