Department Overview

The Good Samaritan Society Albert Lea Assisted Living offers supportive living and senior housing services to residents at Hidden Creek and Bancroft Creek Estates.

  • Full Time: 80 Hours per bi-weekly pay period
  • Primarily Day Shift
  • Rotating Weekends and Holidays
  • Must possess a valid RN license in Minnesota
  • Minimum of one to two years of nursing experience in a clinical environment

Role Summary

This position integrates healthcare for residents from pre-admission through post-discharge. This is achieved by coordinating and sequencing the care provided to residents. The integration process enhances resident flow and fosters interdisciplinary communication, facilitating early intervention. The role involves evaluating outcomes based on established clinical, financial, and utilization data. The RN will function in both structured and unstructured healthcare settings, utilizing independent nursing judgment in the integration of care.

The RN will conduct interviews with potential residents and assess their compliance with regulations and policies. This assessment information is crucial for admissions and continued residency in the assisted living community. The RN will establish and continuously evaluate a service plan for each resident, addressing their growth and development needs. Effective communication with residents, family members, and the healthcare team is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, facilitate, and negotiate care with other healthcare professionals.
  • Monitor and evaluate residents' responses using structured care methodologies.
  • Demonstrate independence, assertiveness, and critical thinking in patient interactions.
  • Document care clearly and solve problems effectively.
  • Adapt teaching principles to meet the needs of various age groups.
  • Establish priorities and demonstrate strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is preferred. Candidates should be graduates from a nationally accredited nursing program. A minimum of one to two years of professional nursing experience in a clinical setting is preferred, along with in-depth knowledge of the specialty area.

Current unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing is required, along with the maintenance of necessary competencies and certifications.
