Job Overview
As a Practical Nursing Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional patient care in alignment with established protocols and under the guidance of a licensed physician.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care coordination, including managing prior authorizations, referrals, and medication refills.

You will also assist in optimizing patient flow and scheduling for appointments, procedures, and tests. While strong medication management experience is preferred, it is not a strict requirement.

Key Responsibilities
1. Support the physician in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs during examinations, treatments, and emergency situations.
2. Assist with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, ensuring they are conducted in a safe and competent manner.
3. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked patient care environment, including examination rooms.
4. Administer various forms of medication and injections as prescribed.

5. Keep comprehensive and accurate medical records that reflect the patient's condition, treatments, and other relevant information in accordance with professional standards.


6. Provide telephone triage and communication, including prescription management and ordering diagnostic studies as per established protocols.

7. Educate patients and their families about procedures and assist them in managing their health conditions under the physician's direction.


8. Uphold confidentiality regarding patient and office operations while demonstrating a strong customer service orientation.

9. Function independently, taking responsibility for clinical procedures in line with your training and documented competencies.


10. Stay informed about business office protocols and seek opportunities for enhancing patient care.

11. Pursue educational opportunities and continuing education units to maintain licensure.


12. Perform additional duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications
Education:
- Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
Experience:
- Experience in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills are essential.
- Current BLS certification is required.
