Radiology Imaging Specialist Per Diem Position

Job Summary
Radiology Imaging Specialist performs diagnostic radiographic procedures adhering to radiation protection principles, ensuring high-quality images for accurate diagnoses. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing patient safety and satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Identify patients and exams accurately, performing diagnostic radiographic services with maximum care and evaluating technical quality.
- Ensure successful technical continuity of care and educate patients on radiological procedures.
- Demonstrate competency in RIS/HIS modules relevant to job responsibilities.
- Gather and record data for Radiology Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement programs.
- Maintain assigned area, ensuring equipment and supplies are readily available.
- Adhere to downtime procedures for seamless patient care.
- Participate in inservices and continuing education programs for professional development.
- Provide educational information to patients regarding their examination.
- Analyzing digital images sent to PACS, verifying correct patient selection and accuracy of Medical Record information.
Requirements
Frequent use of fingers and hands to operate equipment, pull x-ray folders, and chart information. Walking or standing for up to 8 hours per shift in 30-minute increments. Lifting patients up to 300 pounds with assistance. Listing and moving objects of up to 30 pounds. Frequent stooping, crouching, and bending. Hearing as it relates to normal conversation. Seeing as it relates to normal vision.
Graduate from an ARRT recognized education program, or ARRT registered, or ARRT registry eligible. Must pass registry within 1 year of hire date.
Experience as a radiologic technologist preferred, ongoing training in department procedures required. Rotating through all areas of diagnostic radiology. Current CPR certification required. History of computer usage experience necessary.
