About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team at Traditions at Reagan Park. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our community, providing a safe and comfortable living environment for our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to ensure the upkeep of resident rooms and common areas.
  • Emergency Response: Coordinate and conduct fire and disaster drills, and ensure that all necessary procedures are in place to ensure resident safety in the event of an emergency.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and track maintenance inventory, ensuring that all necessary supplies are on hand to perform tasks efficiently.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain all tools and equipment necessary to perform maintenance tasks, ensuring that they are in good working order.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Perform repairs and maintenance on housekeeping, laundry, and mechanical equipment, as well as heating and air conditioning units.
  • Inspections and Repairs: Inspect and repair any damage to hallways, walls, ceilings, floors, roofs, and resident rooms.
  • Painting and Cleaning: Paint areas as needed, and regularly clean condenser coils and other equipment.
  • Laundry and Ventilation: Provide periodic inspections on laundry equipment, clean vents and trap lines, and check combustion chambers on dryers.
  • Miscellaneous Repairs: Perform miscellaneous repairs to building structure, and take appropriate actions to secure maintenance supplies.
  • Safety and Fire Hazards: Monitor the workplace for safety and fire hazards, and correct or report potential problems to the Executive Director.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Report maintenance and equipment problems immediately to the Maintenance Director/Executive Director, and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Community Inspections: Make rounds throughout the community to examine cleanliness, safety, and working condition of each resident room, hallway, common area, and exterior components of the building.
  • Supply Management: Maintain an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies, maintenance supplies, and chemicals to efficiently operate within budget.
  • System Assessments: Assess community electrical systems, fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, nurses call systems, emergency generator, central air and heat, and disaster plans regularly, and contact vendors for repair/maintenance as needed.
  • Daily Cleaning and Maintenance: Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of all carpeted and hard flooring throughout the building.
  • Work Orders: Perform work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Experience: One to three years of work experience in a maintenance, floor care, and/or environmental capacity preferred
  • Knowledge and Skills: Above average knowledge of electrical systems, heating and cooling systems (HVAC), fire alarm and sprinkler systems, and chemicals. Ability to read and interpret documents, speak effectively before groups, and solve practical problems.
  • Certifications and Licenses: Valid State Issued Driver's License
