Job Summary

A1 Garage Door Service is seeking a skilled Garage Door Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for the installation of residential and custom garage doors. This is a full-time position that requires a strong mechanical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installation of Garage Doors: Install new garage doors and/or garage door openers for residential customers.
  • Customer Education: Educate customers on upgraded parts and services.
  • Mechanical Assembly: Assemble mechanical components or machine parts.
  • Equipment Adjustment: Adjust equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Hardware Installation: Install hardware or other interior fixtures.
  • Part Fabrication: Fabricate parts or components.
  • Wiring and Lubrication: Run wiring to connect equipment and lubricate equipment to allow proper functioning.
  • Testing and Documentation: Test mechanical equipment to ensure its functioning properly and document operational activities.
  • Customer Interaction: Interact with customers daily, providing excellent customer service and resolving any issues that may arise.
Requirements
  • Education: GED, High School Diploma, or suitable equivalent.
  • Skills: Excellent mechanical and technical skills, ability to multitask, and excellent communication skills.
  • Physical Demands: Physically able to move items weighing 75 lbs or higher, lift garage door panels above head, and stand on ladder for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions
  • Work Environment: Fast-paced and results-oriented work environment.
  • Travel: Travel to various service calls throughout the day.
  • Hours of Operation: Must be able to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short notice.
