Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. As a Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist, you will be responsible for performing specialized technologist roles within the invasive cardiovascular procedure setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate specific high technology equipment under the direction of a qualified physician to assist with procedures performed on patients which lead to the diagnosis and treatment of congenital and acquired heart and peripheral vascular disease.
  • Ensure imaging system for procedures is appropriately operated under the direct supervision of an authorized physician user of radiation emitting imaging equipment. Proper radiation and equipment safety standards are consistently met.
  • Assist lab team with management of critical care and other complex patients.
  • Demonstrate initiative and motivation by seeking opportunities for learning and development.
  • Contribute to successful operation of the department.
  • Accept coaching / mentoring from others; open to constructive feedback, active listener.
  • Familiarize self with mission statement and ASPIRE values.
  • General understanding of procedural protocols and resources.
  • Familiarize self with department and organizational policies.
  • Privacy is maintained at all times for patient and employee information.
  • Positive, professional demeanor is projected through verbal and non-verbal communications.
  • Collaborate with all other clinical services. Relationships with staff in other work areas throughout the health system are fostered to meet internal and external customer needs.
  • Interpersonal conflicts are resolved using appropriate methods and organizational resources.
  • Diverse perspectives are acknowledged; language and behaviors are modeled that build inclusiveness in the work environment.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduate of an accredited formal medical education program such as CVT, EMT, Paramedic, Radiography, Respiratory Therapy, Sonography, or Associate's Degree or greater in a Health Sciences related field. Radiography Technician preferred.
  • Experience: Clinical patient care experience, 2 years or more strongly preferred.
  • Licensure: American Heart Association Health Care Provider Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Preparing for certification in ACLS, with manager discretion.
Physical Demands

Job requires sitting/standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping/walking, reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive); Repetitive motion (computer keyboard). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50-100lbs. Ability to wear lead aprons for extended periods of time. May be exposed to chemicals, cold, dust, noise, radiation, blood/body fluids/infectious disease.
