Role Summary: The Industrial Coating Technician B plays a vital role in supporting the painting team on various construction and industrial assignments. This position is essential for the successful execution of projects while upholding ASRC Industrial's stringent safety standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of surfaces for painting, including tasks such as sanding, cleaning, and priming.
  • Prepare and mix paints and other materials as instructed by the lead painter.
  • Support the application of paints, varnishes, and coatings using various tools including brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized workspace, ensuring that painting equipment is cleaned and stored properly.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and consistently wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Set up and transport necessary equipment such as ladders and scaffolding.
  • Perform minor repairs and touch-ups as required.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of painting techniques, tools, and materials.
  • Follow instructions effectively and collaborate as part of a team.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Utilize basic math skills for measurements and paint mixing.
  • Possess the physical capability to perform tasks that involve bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Work in various environments, including construction sites and industrial facilities, with potential exposure to chemicals and heights.
  • Engage in physically demanding tasks that may involve lifting heavy items and working in confined spaces.
  • Be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Adapt to a flexible work schedule based on project requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Relevant training in painting or construction is advantageous, though not mandatory.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a construction or painting-related capacity.
  • Familiarity with different types of paints, coatings, and application techniques.
  • Proficiency in using basic painting tools and equipment.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving project needs.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
  • Effective communication skills for coordination with team members and supervisors.
  • Problem-solving abilities to address challenges that may arise on the job.
  • Willingness to take direction and contribute positively to team dynamics.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor tasks.
