Job Title: Occupational Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing evidence-based best practice evaluation and therapy techniques for children with special healthcare needs.

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist will work as a member of an interdisciplinary team to provide fine motor assessment and treatment using evidence-based techniques in a naturalistic, developmentally appropriate manner. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy, two years of experience in Occupational Therapy, and be certified by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or eligible to apply for the examination.

Responsibilities:
  • Provides fine motor assessment and treatment using evidence-based techniques in a naturalistic, developmentally appropriate manner.
  • Evaluates children to determine fine motor skills, visual perceptual motor skills, sensory processing, and self-help skills.
  • Develops and implements treatment plans based on findings, and continually monitors progress and makes modifications as needed.
  • Documents services provided in a professional, timely manner, and prepares and provides billing documents according to KIDS FIRST and Medicaid guidelines.
  • Collaborates and communicates with families, other therapists, nurses, social workers, director, developmental staff, and contractors to provide the best quality of care and optimal outcomes for each child.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Two years of experience in Occupational Therapy.
  • Certified by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) or eligible to apply for the examination.
  • Current Arkansas Occupational Therapy License or eligible to obtain license within 1 month of date of hire.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
