About the Role
SAIC is seeking a highly skilled Network Architect to design, implement, and manage complex network solutions that support business operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement network architecture to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Monitor and optimize network performance to meet business requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to minimize downtime.
- Develop and maintain network documentation to ensure knowledge sharing.
- Conduct regular network assessments to identify and mitigate potential risks.
- Implement and manage network security measures to protect against cyber threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate network solutions with other IT systems.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements.
Requirements
Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and five (5) years or more experience; Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and three (3) years or more experience; PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and zero (0) years or more experience; four (4) years of experience accepted in lieu of degree.
Qualifications
- Extensive experience with VMware NSX, Juniper SSR, Palo Alto, Fortigate, Cisco, and Cisco LISP.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, routing, switching, and subnetting.
- Experience with network security technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
- Proficiency in network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Cisco Prime).
- Certification in networking technologies (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, or equivalent).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Certification and Clearance
CCNA certification is required. Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a full Secret clearance; Minimum of an Interim Secret clearance required to start.
