Role Responsibilities and QualificationsThe Patient Care Technician (PCT) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care by performing essential patient care tasks and assisting with daily living activities. Under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), the PCT plays a vital role in supporting the nursing team and ensuring a safe and organized patient care environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementing nursing care plans by providing both direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
- Collect and document patient information, including vital signs and other relevant data throughout the care process.
- Support patient mobility through regular repositioning and assistance with ambulation and transfers.
- Facilitate specimen collection for diagnostic testing, ensuring proper labeling and timely handling.
- Assist patients with daily living activities such as eating, bathing, and grooming.
- Act as a Monitor/Telemetry Technician as required.
- Engage in best practices that enhance patient experiences, including safety protocols and effective communication.
Qualifications:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification from the American Heart Association is required; CPI training is necessary for Behavioral Health.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience as a PCT in a healthcare environment.
- Ability to lift up to 100 lbs, with frequent lifting of items weighing up to 50 lbs.
