Job Summary:

Bunge North America is seeking a highly skilled State Tax Manager to join our team in a key role that involves managing state and local income and indirect taxes. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reporting, compliance, and planning for Bunge North America's state and local tax obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of various compliance workpapers and review income and franchise tax returns, as well as other state and local tax returns.
  • Review all state and local indirect tax returns and research and consult on various state and local tax matters.
  • Utilize tax-related software to prepare, review, and process returns, and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Review documentation and related SALT workpapers for accuracy and maintain a good working relationship with management and staff at all levels to gather information and provide tax services.
  • Work closely with business partners to promptly resolve tax issues and gain understanding of operations, processes, and business objectives to support regional business activities.
  • Attend professional development and training sessions on a regular basis and maintain awareness of industry trends and governmental regulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven experience of at least 5 years in state tax planning and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of state tax laws and regulations.
  • CPA certification is highly preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to effectively communicate and connect with others.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
