Position Overview:
We are in search of a skilled Controller to oversee our financial operations. This role is crucial for ensuring the financial integrity of our organization and will involve managing a team of five or more.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise all financial accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems, ensuring adherence to GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
2. Establish and maintain internal controls for revenue receipt, costs, and budget management.
3. Generate regular financial reports, including cash flow statements and budget comparisons.
4. Oversee the performance of invested assets according to established policies.
5. Manage financial, project/program, and grant accounting to ensure alignment with budgets.
6. Coordinate audit activities and manage payroll, accounts payable, and receivable.
7. Implement financial management software to enhance operational efficiency.
8. Lead the annual budgeting process and review all financial plans.
9. Keep senior leadership informed of the organization's financial health.
10. Manage cash flow and ensure accurate tax reporting.
Qualifications:
1. At least 3 years of experience in accounting and financial management, ideally within a nonprofit setting.
2. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations.
3. Proficient in financial management software; experience with Abila MIP and Sage is advantageous.
4. Familiarity with A133 audits and grant management processes.
5. Extensive experience in payroll management, asset tracking, and financial reporting.
6. Ability to analyze financial data and prepare comprehensive reports.
7. Excellent communication skills for presenting financial information to stakeholders.
8. Advanced knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management principles.
9. A degree in accounting, finance, or business administration is required; CPA or related certification is preferred.
