Job Summary

The Jr. Ophthalmic Photographer is responsible for the efficient organization and operation of all technical functions of the eye photography practice. This role requires flexibility and well-trained individuals to perform complex, intricate, and technically challenging photography, including Retinal Angiography and ophthalmic testing as ordered by Providers of the Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ophthalmic photography, scans, and testing with precision and accuracy.
  • Document patient visits and patient care with attention to detail.
  • Assist in the capacity of a clinical technician as needed, including patient care work-up and preliminary testing.
  • Work collaboratively with Providers to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest ophthalmic technology and techniques.
Requirements
  • Certified Ophthalmology Assistant (COA) or above.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in clinical ophthalmology/optometry.
  • AHA CPR/BLS certification, including patient assessment and vital signs.
  • Advanced knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and terminology.
  • Understanding of how anatomic systems and systemic disorders may affect the visual system.
  • Demonstrated experience in patient instruction/education and caring for blind or partially sighted patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with intermittent standing and sitting for 8-9 hours/day.
  • Good communication and organization skills, professionalism, and motivation.
