Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with fellow instructors to design, administer, and evaluate examinations for the course. Contribute to the final assessments for the program.
  • Ensure accurate tracking of class attendance and timely submission of grades.
  • Assist in strategic planning and evaluation of instructional initiatives to uphold program quality.
  • Facilitate the orientation of new faculty in both theoretical and clinical settings.
  • Employ teaching methodologies that cater to the characteristics of adult learners.
  • Continuously seek ways to enhance instructional quality.
  • Demonstrate or be willing to learn skills for integrating online activities to enrich course content during interactive teaching.
  • Maintain comprehensive student records, including attendance and skills check-off forms, and support program data collection.
  • Timely submission of required program reports and documentation to the program director.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and safety regulations.
  • Engage in committee activities that align with the mission and objectives of the nursing program.
  • Participate in faculty meetings.
  • Plan and oversee student clinical experiences in designated healthcare facilities.
  • Assess student performance against clinical learning outcomes in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provide immediate feedback on clinical performance following observations.
  • Assist in maintaining student records related to clinical attendance and skills assessments.
  • Ensure clinical assignments meet the needs of both students and facilities.
  • Determine the most effective methods for observing, instructing, and evaluating students.
  • Verify that clinical facilities comply with all health and safety standards for student participation.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication with students through scheduled office hours and electronic correspondence.
  • Engage in student advising activities.
Qualifications:
  • No prior teaching experience is necessary; our Faculty Development training program will equip you with the tools for success in the classroom.
  • Possess a valid, active nursing license issued by the State Board of Registered Nursing.
  • Hold a Master of Nursing or higher degree from an accredited institution, with coursework in nursing, education, or administration.
  • Have a minimum of four years of experience as a registered nurse providing direct patient care.
  • Possess at least one year of clinical experience within the last five years (clinical teaching counts toward direct patient care). Must be clinically competent as defined in relevant regulations.
  • Expertise in the Med Surge nursing specialty is required.
