Bilingual Branch Librarian MLS/MLIS

We are seeking a highly skilled and community-focused Branch Librarian MLS/MLIS to join our team at NCW Libraries. As a key member of our library staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing day-to-day operations, and promoting library services to the community.

• Customer Service: Provide prompt and knowledgeable assistance to library users, assist with library technology instruction, and champion excellent customer service in all staff and patron interactions.
• Program Planning: Plan, schedule, and organize daily, weekly, and monthly programs for a diverse audience, including story time events and library engagement opportunities.
• Circulation and Collection Development: Maintain adequate inventory of supplies, promote and develop library engagement opportunities, and oversee the circulation of library materials, including new user registration, account issues, payments, book reservations, and shelving.
• Staff Supervision: Supervise and train Library Associates, Library Assistants, and Volunteers, ensuring all staff and volunteers are performing assigned duties and meeting customer service standards.
• Community Outreach: Establish and maintain community partnerships, serve as an ambassador for NCW Libraries, and promote library services to the community.

• Education: Master's degree in librarianship from an ALA-accredited graduate program (MLS or MLIS).
• Experience: Three years of related experience.
• Skills and Abilities: Extensive knowledge of modern library operations, computer literacy, ability to identify and establish community partnerships, and ability to work effectively with diverse populations.

The Branch Librarian MLS/MLIS will work in a fast-paced library environment, interacting with library staff, customers, and community members. The position requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends, and bilingual skills in Spanish/English are required.
