Key Responsibilities:

As a Mobile Healthcare Nurse, you will provide essential care to residents following physician directives and established standards. Your role will involve traveling to different facilities to fill temporary gaps or offer additional support as needed.

  1. Maintain a safe and supportive environment for residents, ensuring their rights are upheld.
  2. Monitor residents in accordance with state regulations, guiding nursing assistants as permitted.
  3. Develop care plans tailored to resident needs and any changes in their condition.
  4. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance.
  5. Evaluate responses to treatment plans and communicate any concerns to the Nursing Supervisor.
  6. Ensure proper handling and documentation of controlled substances.
  7. Maintain the organization and cleanliness of medication storage areas.
  8. Assist with the discharge process related to medications and treatment orders.
  9. Adhere to safety and infection control standards.
  10. Document all relevant nursing care and observations.
  11. Participate in ongoing training to stay updated on healthcare practices.
  12. Track travel-related expenses accurately.

Qualifications:

  • Education sufficient to obtain state nursing licensure (LPN/LVN) and/or at least one year of relevant experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis.

Certifications and Licenses:

  • LPN or LVN license.
  • Basic CPR and first aid certification.
  • Fire safety training.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • May require temporary lodging depending on assignment location.

Decision-Making and Management:

Utilize independent judgment to make decisions based on established guidelines and precedents. Identify when to escalate issues to a supervisor.

Knowledge and Skills:

Possess a foundational understanding of nursing practices and the healthcare environment. Familiarity with Microsoft Office and basic typing skills are essential. Maintain confidentiality of resident information.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands for various tasks.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires interaction with residents, coworkers, and vendors.
  • May involve occasional evening or weekend shifts.
  • Frequent travel is required.
