The Performance Foodservice team is seeking an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Technician to join their fleet maintenance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our company fleet diesel equipment.

Job Summary

The Heavy Duty Diesel Technician will diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, perform preventative maintenance, and train junior mechanics. This role offers competitive pay, a $10,000 sign-on bonus, and various benefits contributing to crucial support within the food distribution system.

About the Role
  • Diagnose and repair medium to heavy-duty trucks, trailers, reefer units, convertor dollies, and maintenance vehicles under minimal supervision.
  • Complete overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on minor repairs and standard component inspections/repairs of fleet diesel equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units).
  • Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent.
  • 5-7 years of proven medium to heavy-duty vehicle repair experience, including PM's, tire & wheel, air & air disc brakes, diagnosis, computerized diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, electronic component repair, and a minimum of 2 years' experience in refrigeration &/or overhauls and rebuilds of heavy-duty diesel engines and transmissions.
