Early American History Postdoctoral Research Position

About the Position

The Department of History at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a two-and-a-half-year postdoctoral research fellowship in Early American History and Culture. We welcome applications from scholars working in early American history, broadly conceived.

Responsibilities

  • Teach two courses per semester, including both halves of the US history survey
  • Teach upper-level courses that align with their research interests
  • Participate in the Department of History's professional development and career advancement initiatives
  • Collaborate with faculty mentors and colleagues on research projects and initiatives

Qualifications

  • PhD in History or a related field required by the time of appointment
  • Candidates who do not have a PhD in hand at the time of application must include a letter from their committee chair stating that the candidate will have completed all degree requirements before the start date of the postdoc position
  • Applicants must be no more than four years beyond conferral of the PhD
