As a Marriage and Family Therapist, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, providing clinical treatment interventions, and collaborating with other disciplines to ensure comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct assessments and provide clinical treatment interventions, including brief counseling, group therapy, and individual counseling.
- Consult and collaborate with other disciplines to ensure comprehensive care and participate in interdisciplinary care planning and coordination.
- Perform assessments to determine appropriate level of intervention, education, and counseling services within the context of marriage, couples, and family systems.
- Conduct Cognitive Behavior Therapy for individuals with Substance Use Disorders (SUD) in 1:1 and/or group settings to modify intrapersonal and interpersonal behaviors.
- Conduct assessments for patients preparing for release from correctional facilities.
- Provide education and counseling services to individuals to encourage the development of life skills and strategies for coping and confronting issues related to SUD.
- Develop and/or contribute to treatment and care plans.
- Review patient files, gather data, and complete reports and other required documentation.
- Make recommendations to care teams, effectively communicate, and collaborate with patients and all disciplines involved in care.
- Document and evaluate patients' progress with programming and facilitate discharges and transfers in coordination with other treatment and rehabilitative programs.
- Work with institutional rehabilitative partners and custody staff to assess patient participation and progress in services.
- Attend all case conferences, trainings, meetings, and committees as directed.
To be successful in this role, you must have a Marriage and Family Therapist license by the California State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
