About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Samaritan Health Services. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing safe and effective care to our patients, promoting their independence and functional abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Acute Care Services: Implement evaluation, treatment, and education plans to meet the identified needs and functional goals of patients.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate professionally with patients, families/caregivers, and team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Promote Teamwork: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
  • Manage Caseload: Manage a caseload of approximately 90% adult inpatient and 10% adult outpatient, with opportunities for additional hours/work with other hospitals and clinics in our Samaritan system.
Requirements
  • Current Oregon License: Possess an unencumbered Oregon Occupational Therapist license.
  • Healthcare Provider BLS: Maintain current Healthcare Provider BLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Business Writing Skills: Possess strong business writing skills to professionally communicate clinical content in written documentation.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues and exchange information between team members.
  • Team Building Skills: Ability to work, function, and communicate on a multi-disciplinary team, developing constructive and cooperative working relationships.
  • Time Management Skills: Ability to organize, plan, and prioritize work to complete within required time frames and follow-up on pending issues.
Physical Demands

The Occupational Therapist will be required to perform various physical tasks, including:

  • Rarely: Climb ladders, climb scaffolding, lift up to 54 pounds, squat statically, kneel, crawl, rotate trunk sitting and standing, reach upward, sit, walk on level surfaces, climb stairs, lift up to 60 pounds, lift from floor to waist, lift from knee to chest, carry 2-handed, bend forward, push, pull, stand, walk on inclines, lift from floor to waist, lift from knee to chest, lift from waist to eye, carry 1-handed, carry 2-handed, reach forward, manual dexterity, pinch fingers, grasp hand/fist, finger dexterity, push, pull.
