Position Overview

The Maintenance Technician is primarily tasked with ensuring the proper functioning of thermal soil remediation equipment and mobile machinery in a safe and efficient manner. This role may also involve assisting with facility operations, including the operation of heavy machinery, soil processing systems, and the remediation plant.

This position typically operates during the first shift and may require occasional weekend and overtime work as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee repairs and preventative maintenance for plant equipment (including screeners, conveyors, and thermal remediation components) and heavy machinery (such as wheel loaders and excavators).
  • Conduct daily inspections of equipment, documenting conditions and reporting any maintenance needs to management.
  • Perform maintenance tasks for buildings and grounds as required.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and inspections.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Environmental, Health, and Safety teams to prioritize maintenance tasks.
  • Generate maintenance work orders and procure necessary supplies, parts, and services.
  • Operate heavy machinery and assist Operations as needed.
  • Work independently while adhering to safety policies and procedures.
  • Keep the work environment clean, including regular cleaning of the shop and equipment.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.
Qualifications

Basic Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or combustion systems.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to interpret equipment manuals and schematics.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with hand tools and power tools for repair tasks.
  • Welding (MIG and stick) and fabrication skills are advantageous.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with inspection, preventative maintenance, and cleaning standards.
  • Experience operating heavy machinery and computerized processing equipment.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, follow directions, prioritize tasks, and work unsupervised when necessary.
  • Dependable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious.
  • Professional demeanor when interacting with customers and coworkers.
  • Willingness to wear company-issued personal protective equipment.
  • Trade School graduates are encouraged to apply.
