We are seeking a Pediatric Social Work Specialist to join our team at HH MedStar Health Inc. in providing high-quality clinical social work services to patients and families.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as knowledge of community resources and psychosocial aspects of illness.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in social work from an approved Council on Social Work Education program and experience in providing direct services to patients and families, as well as social work consultation and leadership functions.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $85,000 per year, based on industry standards and market rates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct services to patients and families, including individual and group counseling regarding the impact of illness and hospitalization.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to facilitate communication regarding relevant psycho-social issues of patients and families.
  • Represent the social work perspective and serve as a department representative to designated Hospital committees and community organizations.
  • Participate in training and educational programs for students, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Master's degree in social work from an approved Council on Social Work Education program.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of community resources and psychosocial aspects of illness.
  • Experience in providing direct services to patients and families, as well as social work consultation and leadership functions.
