Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Surgical Technologist - First Assistant to join our team at Piedmont Augusta Hospital. As a key member of our perioperative services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Function as a first assistant during operative and other invasive procedures, utilizing your skills and expertise to maintain a safe and efficient surgical environment.
  • Assist OR staff in the assigned room/case, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Prepare and provide sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring the highest level of quality and safety.
  • Maintain the sterile field and anticipate the needs of the surgical team, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Graduate from a surgical technologist program.
  • Completion of didactic and clinical components of the First Assistant program or competency verified by a sponsoring Piedmont surgeon during the orientation period.
  • Three years perioperative services experience.
  • Certified surgical technologist (CST) certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified surgical assistant (CSA), Certified surgical first assistant (CSFA), Surgical assistant, certified, (SA-C) or equivalent certification.
