Job Summary

As a Flight Paramedic with Mercy Flight Central, you will utilize your pre-hospital critical care experience to perform duties as an air medical provider, adhering to company standards and Department of Health regulations.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in shift crew briefings to ensure seamless operations
  • Accurately complete company timesheets and maintain proficiency in training programs
  • Perform pre and post-flight aircraft inspections to ensure cleanliness and operability of medical and safety equipment
  • Provide patient care according to company "Standards of Care" and NYSDOH guidelines
  • Complete annual clinical requirements and perform general housekeeping duties to maintain work areas
  • Participate in company Quality Management program and adhere to company policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of consistent experience providing patient care at the Paramedic level
  • Possess and maintain certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (CPR), Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
  • Obtain certification in National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses ICS700, ICS100, and ICS200 within 90 days of hire date
  • Maintain certification / proficiency according to state and local standards: NYS EMT-Paramedic
Physical Requirements

The physical demands of this role include sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, using hands, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and talking or hearing. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, and ability to see color. The employee must be able to lift at least 50 lbs. unaided and endure long periods of adverse flight conditions.

Our education program prepares air medical providers to use and understand state-of-the-art equipment, including Terason portable ultrasound, Zoll X series cardiac monitor, and Hamilton T1 ventilator.
