• Update project lists with the Manager, Production Services and coordinate schedules of individual projects.
• Participate in designing new and modifying existing equipment and machinery.
• Produce prints and drawings as required.
• Ensure all phases of fabrication are performed effectively.
• Identify and solve any problems with equipment or personnel.
• Build new machinery, equipment, and fixtures, and rebuild and refurbish equipment as needed.
• Paint new and refurbished equipment.
• Operate fabrication equipment, machines, and tools.
• Maintain open communication with maintenance and warehouse to ensure project schedules are met.
• Ensure consistent and maximum throughput while maintaining quality.
• Minimize product loss and scrap.
• Maintain raw material and supply inventories, and notify purchasing when items need to be ordered.
• Train new hires as well as long-term employees on proper equipment use.
• Communicate with maintenance and production to meet fabrication needs.
• Comply with and enforce all company policies and procedures.
• Keep the plant fabrication/tool area organized and clean at all times.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Fabrication systems, processes, and equipment.
• Welding processes and equipment.
• Mechanical systems and machine design.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as drawings, prints, diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 3+ years of MIG welding experience.
• 3+ years experience in machine fabrication and design operations; or any combination of education, training, and experience which provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.
