Surface Maintenance Mechanic

This is a National Guard Title 32 Excepted Service Position. As a Surface Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, performing maintenance, and major repairs on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, and tactical vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair complex systems, including internal combustion engines, turbine engines, and hydraulic utility systems.
- Perform work in accordance with modification work orders, technical manuals, lubrication orders, maintenance bulletins, regulations, or management policies.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical failures using visual/auditory checks and/or test equipment.
- Remove and disassemble engines/major assemblies, sub-assemblies, components, fuel, hydraulic, and oil pressure systems.
- Make adjustments and repairs to electrical and suspension systems.
- Provide technical guidance and specialized team leadership to lower-grade employees.
- Assist in the maintenance of production reports and records.
- Enlisted (E1 to E9) or Warrant Officer (WO1 to CW3) military grade.
- Minimum 18 months of experience diagnosing, repairing, overhauling, and modifying complex vehicles, equipment, and systems.
- Experience applying independent judgment in determining methods and techniques required to solve complex maintenance and repair problems.
