Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs to plumbing, electrical, heating, and air conditioning systems
  • Check, repair, and install air-conditioning, refrigerators, and cooling equipment
  • Repair and install electrical and gas water heaters, and gas boilers used in hot water central heating systems
  • Repair and install plumbing equipment, including water lines and drainage lines
  • Perform minor carpentry repairs, including installing doors and replacing door and window frames
  • Perform routine maintenance and janitorial duties, including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and replenishing supplies
  • Assist Electrician in installing panel breakers, conduit lines, troubleshooting lighting, and outlets
Requirements
  • At least one (1) year of general experience in maintenance and repair work
  • Knowledge of the methods and materials used in commercial building cleaning and minor repair
  • Knowledge of the construction trades, including electrical, plumbing, and carpentry
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with elected officials, the general public, and others
  • Ability to determine supplies and materials needed before beginning a maintenance or repair project
  • Ability to perform maintenance and repair work in compliance with accepted practices and procedures
Working Conditions

This position will require the employee to work in a variety of environments, including office spaces, construction sites, and outdoor settings. The employee will be exposed to extreme temperatures, loud noises, and other environmental hazards.
