The Norwalk, CT office is currently seeking an Underwriting Analyst to support the Employee Benefits team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as an integral part of the client consulting team to provide expert analysis and interpretation of health care data.
- Assist with budget projections and renewal analyses to help clients make informed decisions.
- Pricing of benefit changes for health coverages utilizing experience and/or manual rating tools.
- Assist with the carrier/vendor marketing process, including preparing the Request for Proposal and compiling the analysis of the responses.
- Write reports and memoranda to describe analyses and make recommendations to clients.
- Support preparation for client meetings and associated deliverables, including preparing templates and inserting supporting documentation.
- Distribute financial dashboards with commentary around trends.
- Work on ad hoc analysis reports and projects to provide valuable insights to clients.
Requirements:
- Strong organizational and analytical skills to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.
- Ability to produce accurate, detail-oriented work while working independently and in a team setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Positive and approachable attitude with strong interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Willingness to learn and desire to grow professionally in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
- Proven problem-solving, analytical, and negotiation skills to drive results and achieve goals.
- Proficiency with project management tools and software.
- Ability to attend in-person meetings as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline, such as mathematics, statistics, or actuarial science.
- 1-3 years of experience in group health underwriting, actuarial, or a related field.
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining.
