About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Machine Learning Engineer to join our team at Miami Marlins and loanDepot park. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for implementing, automating, and optimizing our data scientists' quantitative models.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Model Optimization and Automation: Optimize, automate, and validate quantitative models built using statistics, machine learning, optimization, and simulation techniques.
  2. Model Deployment and Maintenance: Develop, schedule, monitor, and maintain model training and prediction workflows to ensure seamless integration with our business operations.
  3. Infrastructure and Tooling: Assess, provision, monitor, and maintain the appropriate infrastructure and tooling to execute model training and prediction workflows efficiently.
  4. Visualization and Reporting: Create visualizations with dashboard or application development frameworks to deliver data insights to our business users.
  5. API Development: Deploy REST APIs on top of fitted models using distributed computation to support real-time, client-facing integration.
  6. Collaboration and Communication: Coordinate with our broader engineering team to plan and implement changes to core infrastructure, and collaborate with data scientists to define and manage model productionalization and platform release plans.
  7. Platform Support: Fulfill other related duties and responsibilities, including rotating platform support.
Qualifications
  1. Software Development Experience: Academic and/or industry experience in software design and development.
  2. Quantitative Modeling Expertise: Academic, industry, and/or research experience with applied mathematical and predictive modeling (statistics, machine learning, optimization, and/or simulation).
  3. Cloud Infrastructure Experience: Experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed computing.
  4. Programming Skills: Experience with back-end development, including fluency with Python (preferred), R, or other data-oriented and statistical programming languages.
  5. Database Management: Experience with relational databases and SQL development.
  6. Operating System Familiarity: Familiarity working with Linux servers in a virtualized/distributed environment.
  7. Problem-Solving Skills: Strong software-engineering and problem-solving skills.
