We are seeking a highly skilled Ambulatory RN 2 to join our team at RUSH University Medical Center. As a key member of our Gastroenterology department, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the delivery of high-quality services.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, families, and healthcare teams through excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Develop and implement individualized plans of care that address the unique needs and goals of patients, incorporating evidence-based practices and standards of care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care and ensure seamless transitions across the care continuum.
- Utilize critical thinking and problem-solving skills to identify and address patient safety concerns, and implement strategies to minimize risk.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of care protocols and evidence-based practices.
- Provide education and support to patients, families, and staff to promote optimal patient outcomes and satisfaction.
- Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure (State of IN RN licensure required for those working in Indiana).
- At least one year of nursing experience.
- Earned Nursing Degree at the Baccalaureate level or higher (for those hired after January 1, 2014).
- Current CPR Certification.
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Biotherapy Course Certificate or APHON Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy provider card (pediatric infusion) OR obtain within 6 months of hire/transfer.
- National Certification.
- Ability to walk throughout the Medical Center and to be standing or walking most of the designated shift.
- Ability to lift or carry objects up to 35 pounds and lift and position patients, some of whom may exceed 300 pounds.
- Work conditions include performing procedures where carelessness could result in injury or illness and/or contact with potentially infectious materials and/or strong chemical agents.
