Job Summary

ACRT is seeking a highly skilled Forestry Consultant to join our team. As a Forestry Consultant, you will be responsible for performing identification, inspection, and evaluation of trees and brush along utility lines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tree Identification and Inspection: Conduct thorough inspections of trees and brush along utility lines to identify potential hazards and develop recommendations for removal or pruning.
  • Client Communication: Communicate inspection results and recommendations to clients in a clear and concise manner.
  • Team Leadership: Plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of assigned tree clearance crews to ensure efficient and effective completion of tasks.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Discuss and negotiate line-clearance crew access issues with clients, tree crews, and client customers.
  • GIS Data Collection: Utilize GIS integrated data collection software/hardware to collect and analyze data related to tree and brush management.
Requirements
  • Education: 2-year or 4-year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science, or a closely related field.
  • Experience: 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or a related field.
  • Skills: Competent computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, and experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware.
  • Personal Qualities: Self-motivated, organized, production-oriented, and able to work independently and manage a geographical area for all vegetation-related activities.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work with stakeholders, utility customers, and line clearance vendors.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in varied terrain and inclement weather, with flexible schedules (available nights and weekends as needed).
  • Certifications/Licenses: Valid driver's license required.
