We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for conducting procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Identification and Safety: Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, and ensure patient safety and understanding.
- MRI Technology and Operations: Demonstrate knowledge of MRI and cross-sectional human anatomy, operate MRI scanners, and maintain active status with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences (ARRT).
- Contrast Administration: Administer oral and IV contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols, and follow safe and proper injection procedures.
- Image Transfer and Quality Control: Maintain thorough understanding of Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS), transmit images to quality control, and verify and segment images at the quality control station.
- Other Duties: Perform tasks in a timely manner, run the schedule, volunteer for challenging tasks, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Education: Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
- Licensure/Certification: Registration with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligible, and advanced certification in MR within one year of employment.
- Professional Experience: Prior education, training, and experience that provides the ability to perform the assigned tasks.
- Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Job details, including legal employer, entity, organization unit, work type, standard hours per week, salary range, and work assignment type.
